Only Attractive People???

There is a new dating site in London that is only for an elite group of people, the "beautiful". What is happening is that on the dating site it states that only is allowing attractive people. When you go to beautifulpeople.com you have to upload a recent picture of you online and then they will send you an email notification telling you whether you are in or out of the group.

My comments:
WHAT??? This is really funny at first but then really upsetting at the same time. Who decides whether someone else is beautiful enough to be on the dating website? This is exactly why people get really upset about their self image. I think that this site is a disgrace and whoever created this site is probably not a very nice person.

Google is going to have books?!

Google is going to be launchinh a new program called Google Edition. This is going to allow people to buy and read books virtually from alomst anywhere. They will be able to read books on their phones and Ipods and computers at anytime. Google will be in competition with Amazon.com's version of the same thing. In 2010 the creator of Google Edition will have somewhere between 400,000 to 600,000 books in the beginning part of the year.
I am a really big fan of this so far because I dont always carry around the book but I always have my phone. I am going to try it out to see how it works!

Wireless Charging???

So there is a new notebook in town. Dell is coming out with the new sleek notebook ion 2010 called Lattitude Z.  There is one big difference and that is that it charges wirelessly.  There are no cords.  You place the notebook on the dock and it charges right there. The electrons are being passed back and forth and from the dock tot he notebook and thats how it chrages. It takes the same amount of time and is a lot easier then haveing to plug it in. I wonder how much it is going to cost?!

Youtube and Movie Rentals?

So today in class we listened to a news breif about movie rentals on Youtube. Youtube has been talking to the poeple in hollywood to try to come up with a deal to release and rent movies online. I tunes already does this and it seems to work well. It would be a lot easier if Youtube started this due to the fact that so many Americans get on youtube all the time. Videos are posted and watched every second. Personally I would probably rent movies from Youtube if they came through with their plan.
I find it ineresting how the media is making so many advances when we still have an economy problem here in The US. It will be interesting to see if anything goes further with this and how much money youtube will make from their movie rentals.

My Little Computer

My first time on computers was when I was in the 6th grade. My family and I only had one really old Toshiba. I think that was the brand but I do know for sure it was really old and it was beige. I did not know how to use it except to play solitaire and check my email. The only person that had my email address was my mom. She would send me random messages like, "I love you" and "You need to clean your room." Then I would write her back saying that I never got the email or that it was in a different language.

My life then changed when I able to get my first AIM account. That was the "in" thing and I wanted to be apart of it. I had my first screen name and then it went downhill from there. Now I am addicted to computers and I am constantly on checking email and Facebook and Myspace and Twitter. I like to know all the latest news and gossip!

So since I was in the 6th greade I have never been able to say no to computers.

About Me!

Hello!

My name is Nicole M. Mims. All of high school I was called by my last name Mims. It does not matter to me what you call me: Nicole or Mims. PLEASE...not Nicky!

This semester I am pretty full. I am taking 15 credit hours. I know that it may seem like a lot but I am very confident that I will be ok.

My JTCC major is a transfer student. So I am taking Gen Ed.

I will transfer in a year to West Virginia University to study Athletic Training. I hope that I will one day work with a professional football team.

I enjoy being on Facebook, Myspace and Twitter. I also enjoy editing pictures and loading them.

I work at a place called X Zone which is a mentoring place for kids and young adults. They go there to get away and to talk to someone not in their family. They will talk to someone who will listen and relate to them and not judge them. I love my job!!!

I really enjoy hanging out with friends, singing, dancing, and just having a good time. I am very outgoing and I love to be spontaneous!
